The Galileo Learning Community
Defining a Learning Community
A Learning Community is an exciting and engaging way to experience college. In this program, you will be able to mesh your academic experiences with peers who share your interests.
Connections that go beyond the classroom
You will share a combination of four core classes: Human Anatomy (Biology 108), Expository Writing (English 101), and Freshman Focus (IDC 100) in the fall semester and Freshman Seminar (IDC 101) in the spring, all connected to the theme of Mind, Body, and Spirit. If you are a resident, you will live on one of two floors of Newman Hall together with other students in the LC. If you are a commuter, you will remain engaged through classes, out-of-class trips and social activities. The time spent together during these courses and activities allows you to create bonds and learning opportunities not available in the traditional classroom setting.
