Modified Schedule of Events for 2014 Spring Commencement

Why the change?

The new format (announced March 18, 2014) moves Commencement outdoors to Owsley Brown Frazier Stadium.  This move address the key concerns we heard from students, families, faculty and staff.  It allows all students to graduate together and to receive their diplomas from the president, and it provides ample seating for families and friends.

What is the new schedule?

Wednesday, May 7

  • Rehearsal at 5:30 p.m. in Knights Hall
  • Alumni Welcome at 6:30 p.m. in Frazier

Friday, May 9

  • Honors and Awards Reception, 3-5 p.m. in Frazier (by invitation)
  • Baccalaureate Mass, 5:30 p.m. in Knights Hall (All are welcome)

Saturday, May 10

  • Assembly of Procession at 8:30 a.m. (various locations)
  • Procession begins at 9:30 a.m.
  • Commencement at 10:00 a.m. in Knights Hall.

No tickets will be required for the Commencement Exercises at Frazier Stadium.  In the event of extreme weather, however, the Frazier Stadium ceremony will be cancelled for reasons of safety, and the Commencement Exercises will take place in Knights Hall with a limit of 4 tickets per graduating student.  These "severe weather" tickets will be distributed on May 7 at rehearsal.  If the graduate is unable to attend rehearsal, he/she may pick up the ticket envelope on Thursday, May 8th, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm in the Academic Affairs Office in Horrigan/CC-224.

Under any and all circumstances, whether at Frazier Stadium as planned or in Knights hall in the case of extreme weather, the Commencement Exercises will be streamed live in Frazier Hall.
