Accelerated Medical Laboratory Science
Medical laboratory scientists provide the information that helps ensure patients receive the proper care. Eighty percent of diagnostic and therapeutic medical decisions are based on laboratory test results generated by a medical laboratory scientist.
Our MLS graduates are employed primarily in hospital labs, but some also find career opportunities in biomedical research, forensics, biotechnology, toxicology, healthcare administration, pharmaceuticals and other industries. An MLS degree is also excellent preparation for medical, dental or graduate school.
Bellarmine’s Accelerated Medical Laboratory Science program can be completed in four semesters (including summer), or about 16 months.
Nearly all of our MLS graduates find employment in their field after graduation. In addition, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics projects above-average job growth in this field in the next decade.
