Alumni Career Consultant Program

The Alumni Office, in conjunction with the Alumni Board of Directors and the Career Center, offers current students successful, professional alumni consultants to use as resources, career advisors and mentors.

Alumni Career Consultants are needed across a wide variety of professions, i.e. management, accounting, sales, nursing, education, physical therapy, doctors, technology, the arts, psychology, as well as mentors for the First Generation and Brown Scholars Programs.

There are numerous ways in which Alumni Career Consultants can be involved and make a difference in the lives of students:

  1. Career Consultation: Meet with and give advice to individual students about their career paths.
  2. Job Shadowing: Allow a student to visit your place of work for a job shadow day.
  3. Mock Interviews: Participate in an expanded on-campus Mock Interview Program.
  4. Guest Speakers: Serve as a guest speaker for a Bellarmine class, including the Majors & Minors Seminar class for freshmen.
  5. Career Presentation Series: Be an alumni speaker for the new Career Presentation Series offered through the Career Center and Residence Life.
  6. Declaration Day: Help underclassmen choose a major at Bellarmine’s annual Declaration Day.
  7. Internships: Offer internships at your current place of work for Bellarmine students.
  8. Resume Review: Participate to review and critique student resumes.
  9. Company Advocates: Become Bellarmine’s contact person at your company.

Alumni Ambassador Program

The Alumni Ambassador Program is a collaborative effort between the Bellarmine University Office of Admission and the Office of Alumni Relations.  The purpose of this endeavor is to create a special group of alumni dedicated in helping recruit students to the University. Each ambassador is asked to contribute approximately 5-10 hours in various recruitment efforts per year in all three areas of focus:

  1. Student Referrals- Ambassadors can actively recruit prospective students by submitting student referrals. CLICK HERE to refer a student.
  2. Personal Contact through Phone Calls- Ambassadors will make personal contact with prospective students through phone calls.
  3. Point of Contact- Ambassadors will serve as the point of contact for Bellarmine Admission Counselors who may need additional assistance in managing a particular state, region, or high school.

Ways Alumni Ambassadors may be asked to help:

    • Represent Bellarmine at a College Fair or Academic Signing
    • Participate in the Bellarmine Alumni Book Award Program
    • Host a reception or a Summer Send Off for prospective students and guests
    • Attend one of the various receptions hosted by the Alumni/Admission Offices
    • Attend a donut or dessert day held at a local high school during the spring
    • Provide personal contact and/or literature to high schools

Other ways to get involved:

  • Take a tour of campus and bring a prospective student
  • Participate in alumni testimonies in marketing publications
  • Stay Updated! Read the Bellarmine magazine and register for alumni eNewsletters
  • Spread the word to friends and family about the great things happening at Bellarmine!
