The history of this beautiful
Cherokee Park home is seen as you enter the grand foyer. Inspired
by the European grisaille style murals, the muralist/designer has
transformed the spacious foyer with a detailed monochromatic
landscape mural. Classical piano selections encourage you to
linger in the foyer to enjoy a collection of original oil
paintings and artwork that is custom framed in various styles to
create an eclectic collage.
Adding to the architectural
detail, trompe l’oeil panes were painted below the chair rail to
further enhance the wall. The front door was faux painted in a
warm wood tone that complements the original wood floor. Luxurious
antique oriental carpets, hand painted furniture, and unusual
accessories create a world-traveled feeling to this grand entry
and lure you to explore this elegant home.
As you follow the mural up the
grand staircase, an antique chandelier with matching sconces on
each side of the original leaded glass window bring you onto the
landing to experience an unusual collection of paintings. An
interesting gallery of portraits of precious pets, landscapes and
oriental styled artwork are just some of the wonderful treasures
to behold.
The mural continues on the second
floor hallway where in an alcove sits an artist’s easel with a
painting in progress. In this home the invitation to visit and
enjoy its serene elegance clearly extends beyond the foyer, into
the landing and second floor. |
