GRE Update
In August of 2011, there were massive changes to the GRE, and score returns were delayed until November of 2011. If you are unfamiliar with the new GRE, you should review the changes and new test-prep materials before scheduling a test. For more information about the changes to the GRE, click here.

GRE Prep Sessions
Bellarmine offers free GRE prep sessions for current students, alums, and incoming graduate applicants. The courses are eight weeks each for one hour per week (day and evening sessions are available), and are offered in the fall and spring. Students are required to purchase The Official Guide to the GRE Revised General Test (students do not need the CD/DVD versions, but must have the current edition).The first four weeks of the sessions cover general information and strategies for several elements of the test:

  • Sentence Equivalence
  • Text Completion
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Analytical Writing

The next four weeks of the sessions will cover skills necessary for the quantitative (math) section of the test.

  • Properties of Numbers ( Fractions, percents, proportions)
  • Algebra  (solving equations, systems of equations, charts)
  • Geometry
  • Strategies for answering quantitative questions

Graduate School Application Essays
The BU Wrting Center is a great place to get feedback about and help with your graduate school admissions essay, personal statement, cover letter, etc. For more help, read  the Writing Center's Tips for Writing a Grad School Admissions Essay or contact the ARC at (502) 272-7400 to make an appointment with the Director of Writing and Parent Communications.

GMAT, LSAT, MCAT
Currently, the ARC does not offer group prpe sessions for these tests, but will investigate options should enough interest arise at any time in the future.

The ARC does have limited GMAT and LSAT prep materials available for students upon request.
