The 1.5 million expansion to Miles Hall is complete, and the Admissions department has been moved into the expanded building, leaving room for the Foreign Languages and Continuing Education Departments to move in. The 8.5 million Siena Secondo residence hall is completed and offers 146 beds. Another project completed this summer was the expansion of Café ogle to include four new restaurants serving specialty foods ranging from bagels and coffee, to pizza and wings, to sushi and smoothies. There will be no shortage of either brain food or comfort food at Bellarmine this fall.
Construction has begun on Siena Quarto, the newest residence hall, which will offer 120 new beds and be completed for the 2010-2011 academic year. The final phase of the Siena project, Siena Terzo, is in the developmental phase, but will be completed for the 2011-2012 academic year. Siena Terzo will house a small café, meeting rooms, apartments for faculty and staff, and about 120 beds.
Other upcoming construction projects include a parking structure with a direct connection to Knights Hall, a $40 million expansion and update to Horrigan Hall (now re-named Bellarmine Centro), and expansion of the Bellarmine Activities Center and Kosters Dining Hall. The Kosters expansion will offer more seating, a new kitchen and server, and will be paired with the introduction of the new “Take 3” food concept, a meal exchange plan which will allow students to select sandwich or a salad, chips or fruit, and a drink or dessert.
