Fugedy & Nakatani earn All-Region honors HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2008) - The 2008 Daktronics Division II Women's Soccer Midwest Region teams were announced today, and Bellarmine's Cristina Fugedy and Brittany Nakatani were named to the second team.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Fugedy, a sophomore from Marietta, Ga., was consistently the team's best defender, starting all 17 of the games in which she played. The gifted back was also dangerous on the attack, scoring 3 goals, 2 of which were game winners.

With 10 goals, 5 assists, and 25 points, Nakatani led the Knights in scoring this season.The freshman from Shelbyville, Ky., used her strong 1-on-1 skills to score five goals during conference play, placing her in a tie for 7th in league scoring during the regular season. Her knack for scoring big goals enabled the midfielder to record three game winners for the season.

Earlier this year, Fugedy and Nakatani were named to the All-GLVC Second Team.
