Bellarmine soccer teams earn academic awards LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Dec. 3, 2008)--Bellarmine University was one of just 61 schools nationally to have both men's and women's teams earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's "Team Academic Award" for the 2007-08 season.

The NSCAA gives the award to teams posting a 3.0 grade point average or higher. Last year, Bellarmine's women's soccer team boasted a 3.26 GPA and the men posted a 3.02.

Colleges and universities throughout all three NCAA divisions as well as the NAIA are eligible for the award. Bellarmine was the only Kentucky college or university to have both teams earn the recognition.

Overall, 262 women's teams and 105 men's teams were honored.
