Barraclough and Hopkins earn NSCAA honors LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 15, 2009) -- Bellarmine University's men's soccer team members Brad Barraclough and Ross Hopkins were named to the NSCAA/adidas Division II All-Midwest Region team.

Barraclough, a forward from Lincoln, England was honored for his excellent play with placement on the second team. The sophomore striker led the Knights with 18 goals and 36 points on the year. Barraclough scored 11 goals in league play which tied him for the GLVC lead in goals scored. He also had three game winners on the year.

At the end of the season, Barraclough was also named All-GLVC 1st team and Daktronics NCAA Div. II All-Midwest Region 1st team.

Hopkins, a midfielder from Skerries, Ireland was named to the 3rd team by the NSCAA. A sophomore who used his passing skills to set up his teammates, Hopkins led the Knights with ten assists on the year. His five assists in conference play tied him for second in the GLVC.

Hopkins was also honored earlier with placement on the All-GLVC 1st team. The midfielder was named to the Daktronics NCAA Div. II All-Midwest Region 2nd team as well.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) hands out these season ending awards, sponsored by adidas, at all levels of college and high school play for both men and women.
