This is a 5-year program that requires a total of 156 semester hours with between 36 and 45 semester hours in accounting. This program does qualify you to sit for the CPA examination under current Kentucky law. This program does qualify you for an accounting career in public accounting (CPA firms), corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental agencies.
Students choosing this option will complete a joint, 5-year program that leads to a baccalaureate (BA) degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Students will receive the BA degree in accounting at the end of the fourth year and the MBA degree at the end of the fifth year. For the MBA degree, students will usually elect the weekend program, which meets on alternate weekends and can be completed in the fifth year. Alternatively, students may elect the night program, which meets two-night-per-week but will require a total of five and one-half years to complete. Either approach may allow students to begin their professional careers after completing their fourth academic year.
