Gen Ed courses may be taken in semesters other than the ones listed above.
A major in Economics (27-36 hours) consists of: Econ 111, 112, 231, 232, 314, 410**,
441, 499 and 6 hours selected from other courses in Economics. Required related courses: Math 205 or 314, and Math 125 or 117.
A minor in Economics (18 hours) consists of: Econ 111, 112 and 231 or 232, and
9 hours selected from elective courses in ecomonics.
( If one takes both Econ 231 and 232, then only 6 hours of economics electives are necessary.).
Any student who is considering entering a graduate program in economics should see his/her academic advisor as early as possible. Because graduate study requires quantitative expertise, a minor in mathematics is encouraged.
