All history majors and political science majors must keep an up-to-date portfolio on file in the social science office, beginning the first semester of the junior year at the latest.
Each portfolio should include:
1. Résumé.
2. Copies of major term papers (one per course) from upper-division history or political science courses taken by the student. By the time of graduation, there should be at least five (5) papers in the portfolio.
3. Examinations taken in upper-division history or political science courses.
4. A 1-2 page essay reviewing the student's progress and achievements over the past year.
The portfolios should be updated each semester until graduation. The documents in the portfolios will be kept confidential and will be made available only to the department faculty and staff. Portfolios will be retained for a period of three years after graduation
