Dr. Steven D. Wilt is a developmental and molecular biologist interested in the physiology of the retinal pigment epithelium. Dr. Wilt is currently funded through a grant in collaboration with Eastern Kentucky University to study a class of tight junction-specific molecules called the claudins. Using bioinformatics tools, he will study the phylogeny of this functionally unique family of molecules.
