What is the Early Knights Program?
Sponsored by the Office of Identity & Inclusion, this program is designed to give incoming students of color a jump on becoming Knights and their college experience, the Early Knights Program helps students transition from high school to college. To facilitate the transition to Bellarmine, all students who participate will have the opportunity to strengthen their academic skills, develop a peer support network, and to familiarize themselves with the campus and its resources while receiving personalized attention from Bellarmine staff, faculty and current upperclass students.
Why is it important?
In conjunction with continued program support throughout a student’s academic career, early arrival/bridge programs have been found to greatly increase the college readiness gap that can exist for incoming first-generation students and those from underrepresented communities. We can’t wait to welcome all of our Early Knights!
Why should I attend?
- It’s FREE!
- All meals provided
- Connect with other incoming students of color
- Experience a college level course
- Meet current upperclass BU students
- MOVE IN EARLY! All students will stay overnight in the residence halls for the program. Students participating in the Early Knights program get to move into their permanent housing assignments early!
