Lauren Pohl, M.A., Rank I
Lauren Pohl, M.A., Rank Iis an instructor in special education. She served as a classroom teacher and consultant with Jefferson County for 33 years and holds certification in general and special education. As a practitioner, her interests include co-teaching collaboration, behavior intervention, assistive technology and strategic instruction. She is a certified trainer of the Strategic Intervention Model (SIM) from the Center for Research on Learning at the University of Kansas. She received her BS in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Kentucky, her MS in Special Education from Indiana University and a Rank One from the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board. Lauren lives with her husband, Delano Miller, in the Highlands. Her daughter, Carmen Miller, is a senior at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

Bellarmine University Regional Assessment Clinic (BURAC)
The BURAC, which opened in January, 2009, is generously supported by the WHAS Crusade for Children. The mission of our clinic is twofold:
- The clinic serves as a foundational part of the preparation of Bellarmine students by providing authentic, hands-on experiences in educational assessment, design of instructional interventions and consultation with parents, students and families. In addition, the clinic provides training in state-of-the-art assistive technology (AT) equipment, software and other resources.
- Under the supervision of credentialed faculty, Bellarmine students conduct free academic assessments for youth aged 3 to 18 years of age and provide consultation services to parents/families, schools and other agencies. The BURAC also offers resources for educators and families in the Louisville area to support the needs of struggling learners and students with disabilities.
