Theresa Magpuri-Lavell, Ed.D. (email)
Assistant Professor of Education. After receiving her teaching
certification from Lesley University, she taught elementary school for
ten years in Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Japan. She received her
doctorate in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with a specialization
in reading education from the University of Memphis. Her research
focuses on the integration of literacy into middle school mathematics
classrooms and its effects on the mathematics achievement of urban
adolescents. Other scholarly interests involve students with dyslexia
and literacy coaching. At Bellarmine, she teaches education measurements
and literacy methods courses.
