The purpose of this home page is to provide the interested student an opportunity to research the various topics available on the Internet that are related to Microbiology.

Microbiology is the study of microorganisms that are so small that a  microscope is needed to study them.  We will consider four dimensions of the the scope of microbiology: (1) the variety of kinds of microbes, given in an historical setting, (2) the effect they have on humans, (3) the kinds of work microbiologists do, (4) and the best sources of information on microorganisms.
