To apply for federal and state assistance, all students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students can submit this form via paper or via the Internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Here are some important considerations to note:
File early. Apply for financial aid as soon as possible after
January 1. Applying after March 1 may jeopardize your receiving
some financial aid.
Ask questions. Contact the Office of Financial Aid at
(502)452-8124 or 1-800-274-4723 if you have any questions. Also,
ask about the financial aid workshops offered during the year.
We recommend filing the form on the web. If you mail the paper FAFSA application, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) in approximately four weeks. If accurate, you should retain the SAR for your records. If corrections are needed, please submit the SAR to our office with signatures.
FAFSA forms are available beginning January 1 for the next academic year. Students wishing to apply for assistance for Fall 2007/Spring 2008/Summer 2008 should complete the FAFSA by March 1.
