Alumna’s Team is Number One in the Nation and Number One in Kentucky
Congratulations to Liz Lewis BSN ’84 who coached Sacred Heart Academy to a third state field hockey championship in three years. It is her fifth season at SHA where she has led the Valkyries to the championship game in four seasons, captured three state titles and extended the school’s winning streak to 84 games. The team was ranked number one in the nation by TopOfTheCircle.com a national field hockey poll. In 2007 Liz was the Kentucky Coach of the Year for field hockey.
Alum Helps with Fundraiser
Shellie May BSN ’01 was recently featured in the Courier-Journal with a picture and announcement for an Easter Seals of Louisville fundraiser held at Bellarmine in November. She and her husband are the parents of a set of triplets.
New Vice-President at Our Lady of Peace
Michelle Spurlock ADN’85, BSN ’88 was recently promoted to Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Our Lady of Peace Hospital. She has more than 23 years experience in psychiatric services. Most recently, Michelle was the assistant vice president for Psychiatric Services at OLOP where she has also served as Director of Clinical Support. Prior to that, she spent 16 years with Norton Hospital attaining the position of Director of Psychiatric Services. She also served in various roles at Ten Broeck Hospital for three years. Michelle also earned an MBA from Bellarmine. Her community involvement includes board memberships with Bridgehaven, Alzheimer’s Association and the Kentucky Hospital Association and volunteer activities with Middle School Connection and Metro United Way. Michelle and her husband, Mike, have two children.
Alumna Returns to Graduate School
Angie Greathouse BSN ’96, MSN ‘03 works at the University of Louisville Brown Cancer Center. She plans to attend the University of Louisville to become an adult nurse practitioner and specialize in gynecology. She will remain at the Cancer Center after she completes the program.
