-Club dues should be given to James Mountain as soon as possible. We will let you know the amount of the dues as soon as possible.

Guest Speaker-Dr. Ennis, Dr. Boyce, and Dr. Gillette

Dr. Ennis spoke of:

Physical Therapy Department and Clinics
-Each student must complete 6 months of Clinical work.
-Each student must work 8 weeks in a hospital in patient setting, 8 weeks in an-inpatient      rehab or nursing home setting, and 8 weeks in a community setting.
-Most likely very student will be placed in a clinical outside of Louisville.
-CPR training must be complete prior to PT Clinical start date.
  
Dr. Boyce spoke of:

Study Abroad Opportunities
-Australian PT Students and Professor John Owens joined the meeting and introduced themselves.
-PT students can participate in the study abroad program for part of a semester at the University of Curtin in Australia.

Dr Gillette spoke of:

Overview of the DPT Program:
            -2 ½ year graduate program
            -Start the program the summer after your Junior year
            -Will be taking anywhere from 12- 23 class hours while in the PT program
            -Recommended a 3.5 math/science GPA
            -Usually in class 8-5 Monday-Friday
            -Will be involved in rotations in a clinical setting

Reminder that October is National Physical Therapy Month-look for promotions and educational resources in the Quad and Café.
