Foundation Center Cooperating Collection
Grant Services
Nonprofit organizations and other grant seekers in the Louisville
area looking for funding sources have access to a valuable collection of
resources at the W. L. Lyons Brown Library.
The W. L. Lyons Brown Library at Bellarmine University is a
Cooperating Collection affiliate of the national Foundation Center. The
Foundation Center's mission is to strengthen the nonprofit sector by
advancing knowledge about U. S. philanthropy. The Cooperating Collection
contains resources to find potential funding from foundations,
corporations, the public sector, and other sources for non-profit
organizations and individuals. Materials in the collection include
Foundation Directory Online, Professional and Foundation Grants to
Individuals, guides on grant seeking, proposal writing, other means of
fund raising, and texts on nonprofit management, leadership, and
volunteerism.
Hours
The materials in the Cooperating Collection are available during regular library hours.

The Cooperating Collection maintains a current set of print resources on the main level in the Reference area.

The Foundation Directory Online Professional
provides our patrons with access to information on grantmakers and
their grants. The searchable database contains information on over
92,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grant making public
charities in the United States. There is also a searchable file of more
than 1.2 million records of grants already given out.
The Foundation Grants for Individuals
database focuses on foundations that provide financial support for
individual grantseekers. It describes giving for a variety of purposes,
including scholarships, student loans, fellowships, program development,
internships, professorships, arts and culture projects, and research.
