Faculty Development Center

The Office of Sponsored Projects and the Faculty Development Center offer support and services to the Bellarmine academic community and are housed together on the 2nd floor of Horrigan Hall.

The Office of Sponsored Projects provides services that facilitate funding of research and sponsored projects. Our work focuses on pre-grant support services for faculty and staff, including:

Identifying funding opportunities
Providing grantseeking training in relation to our Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center.
Maintaining a database of faculty research interests
Identifying cross-discipline partnership opportunities for grant proposals
Coordinating grant submissions
Advising on required pre-approvals, documentation, and deadlines
Providing proposal proofreading services
Managing electronic submission processes

Faculty who are seeking or plan to apply for external funding may contact the Office of Sponsored Projects for a pre-approval and routing form. All grant proposals will be reviewed and approved by the appropriate area dean, the Assistant VP of Academic Affairs, and the VP for Finance before being submitted.

The Faculty Development Center (FDC) works closely with the faculty development committee to provide professional development programs pertinent to faculty needs. Programming plans include formation and renewal activities , Faculty Forum presentations, and a semester-long series that deeply explores one topic relevant to teaching/learning. The FDC also provides instructional design and technology support for faculty members. The FDC administers the campus Blackboard program and the Turn It In plagiarism prevention program.
