Hoover's First Research - Hoover's First Research provides industry profiles to help marketers, businessowners, job seekers and researchers. It profiles 900 Industry Segments, updated constantly with monthly statistics and indicators as well as quarterly trend updates.

Business Source Premier/Datamonitor Industry Profiles - Industry reports present information on the entire industry in which your company operates. (Enter an industry into the first box e.g. airlines, and in the second box enter industry profile. In the drop down box to the right of where you entered industry profile, select SO Publication Name).

Mergent Online - Mergent Online includes U.S. company data, archives, annual reports, fact sheets and North American Industry Reports. (For industry reports, click the blue tab labeled Report Search. in the Search by Industry box, select the industry in which you are interested, scroll to bottom of page and click search.)

Encyclopedia of American Industries (Thomson Gale) Business reference encyclopedia providing detailed, comprehensive information on a wide range of industries in every realm of American business.  It is available through the Gale Virtual Reference Library. Career Guide to Industries (Bureau of Labor Statistics) Career Guide to Industries provides information on different industries from the perspective of employment in those industries.  The guide tells you about occupations in the industry, training and advancement,  earnings, expected job prospects and working conditions.
