Description: Twelve scholars will assist in landscaping (planting grass seeds and shrubs, and mulching) to prepare for a house dedication ceremony of a newly finished Habitat for Humanity home. Participants also have a chance to tour the completed house.

Description: Eight scholars will help prepare breakfast for members staying at Ronald McDonald House. Mission of the Ronald McDonald House charities of Kentuckiana is to provide a "home away from home" for families of children receiving health care at area medical facilities while also lending support to other organizations that aid children.

Description: Sixty scholars will participate in a variety of activities including sorting and organizing goods from storage, weeding and grooming the garden and sterilizing toys and the playground area. Family Scholar is a collaborative organization that provides housing to single mothers who are experiencing homelessness and supports them in obtaining a baccalaureate degree, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children.

Description: Scholars will help secure trees throughout the park by spreading mulch around the base so mowers cannot hit the trees. They also will help with other landscaping needs around the park.

Description: Twenty scholars will spend the morning sorting food for the homeless in the Dare to Care Food Bank warehouse. Dare to Care is Louisville's only community-wide emergency food provider.

Description: Twenty scholars will help set up a computer lab, rearranging classroom furniture and general painting of the facility.

Description: Thirty scholars will clean the kitchen facilities at the East Jefferson campus and provide general maintenance/cleaning of the facility. Wayside Christian Mission provides a multitude of services for the Louisville area, including shelters for men and women.

Description: Twenty scholars will help with participate in a volunteer orientation and then assist with activities at the kennels. In addition to enforcing the Louisville Metro Animal Care and Control Ordinance, the center has a 10-person animal care staff that includes a veterinarian, two veterinary technicians, a veterinary assistant and two adoption coordinators.

Description: Twenty scholars will performance general maintenance tasks at the site. In 1988, the Cerebral Palsy School Board of Directors opened the Mattingly Center for continuing Education in response to the overwhelming need for quality day programs for severely disabled individuals, many of whom are graduates of the Cerebral Palsy School. The day program emphasizes the building and strengthening of relationships, and helps each individual obtain their independent goals and desires of their right to a quality life of choice.
