Bellarmine University Honors Louisville Athletic Legend with New Tennis Complex Dedication

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 11, 2009) – Media are invited to Bellarmine University for the dedication of the new Eddie Weber Tennis Complex Saturday, Sept. 12, 4 p.m. Weber earned 17 varsity letters from the University of Louisville during his own playing career. He joined Bellarmine in 1952. He served in several capacities until his retirement in 1971, including athletic director, professor, intramural director and head coach for tennis, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf and track. As a Bellarmine coach, Weber was one of the first in Kentucky to integrate basketball.

--Presentation of gifts by Dr. Joseph J. McGowan
