Ranking includes praise for faculty, student study habits, student governmentThe Princeton Review has once again called Bellarmine University one of the nation’s best colleges.
Bellarmine’s inclusion in The Princeton Review’s 2017 “381 Best Colleges” publication places the school among the top 15 percent of the nation’s four-year colleges and universities. Surveys of 143,000 U.S. college students, along with data about each institution, determined which universities appear on this year’s list.
This year, Bellarmine also appeared on two featured lists within the publication:
- 14th most active student government determined based on student feedback about the impact of Bellarmine’s Student Government Association.
- 18th "stone-cold sober school," based on student feedback indicating high personal daily study hours outside of class combined with low usage of alcohol and drugs on campus.
Additional feedback shared by Bellarmine students:
- A “superb teaching staff” offering a “challenging but rewarding” academic experience.
- The school has “a niche, club or activity for everyone,” and “encourages and supports any club a student would like to create.”
- “I can’t say I’ve ever met a stranger” here.
- “Most all the athletes are also amazing students.”
- Bellarmine “seeks to train its students in the love of truth and equips them with the skills and tools necessary to live an enriched life.”
- Many professors “even provide their personal cell phones to students on their syllabi” and “help you find internships and jobs.”
The Princeton Review also noted that Bellarmine's alumni remain active on campus after graduation.
