From your Alumni Association president ALUMNI EVENTS I am humbled and honored to write you as the president of your Alumni Association for the coming year. For those of you who don’t know me, I am a 2004 graduate. My wife, Jen, is a 2005 graduate, and we have recently celebrated the first birthday of our son (and future Knight), Preston. As I write this letter, I am consumed by thoughts of change. It could be that my life as a new parent has Alumni hospitality in Knights Hall Booster Room: A fun and festive option for alumni, the Booster Room, located in the upper arena on the right as you enter Knights Hall, is open during games and has refreshments available for purchase. You must be 21 or over. evoked these thoughts. However, I also seem to be drawing a comparison between changes in my life and the changes happening at our wonderful alma mater. “Coming of age” is a term used to describe someone or something’s maturation. Just as I have accomplished things that I am proud of in my past, Bellarmine College (and now University) has been a pillar of our state’s and region’s higher education community since its inception. The achievements of the past are too numerous to count. Our history gives us much to be proud of. However, I can’t help but feel that with the great leadership of Dr. McGowan and the Board of Trustees, Bellarmine University is poised to make a giant leap forward. As most of us believe that our best is still to come, the mission and vision of our university dictate the same for Bellarmine. I am happy to be a witness to this growth and achievement firsthand, and to have some fun along the way. I encourage you to do the same.
