On Oct. 12, the Bellarmine University Alumni Association will honor eight individuals who have distinguished themselves through professional accomplishments, community service and demonstration of attitudes consistent with Bellarmine’s Catholic identity and the inclusive Thomas Merton spirit. Gallery of Distinguished Graduates Dr. Michael Pfeifer ’69, chief medical officer of Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care and president of the Greater New York office of the American Diabetes Association. The Most Rev. Charles Thompson ’83, bishop of the Catholic diocese of Evansville, Ind., since 2011, with previous service at St. Joseph and Bethlehem High School in Bardstown; St. Francis of Assisi, Presentation Academy, Holy Trinity and Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville; and St. Augustine in Lebanon, Ky. Stephen Mullins ’84 MBA , president of Fifth Third Asset Management. Ben Murr ’97/’03 MBA , senior vice president and chief technology officer at Churchill Downs Inc. Nick Carosi is president of Arban & Carosi, the architectural precast concrete firm that created St. Robert Gate, the university’s new signature entrance.
