Class notes Tiffany Embry ’07 was one of 38 teachers with Jefferson County Public Schools to achieve National Board Certification in 2012, the highest possible certification in the teaching profession. She teaches fourth grade at Eisenhower Elementary School. To obtain certification, teachers must submit a detailed portfolio including samples of students’ work, an outline of what they have done outside the classroom to improve learning and video record- ings of them interacting with students. They then take an exam to show that they have mastered the content of their area of certification.
