Cap and Gown
If you are unable to attend the Graduation Fair in March, apparel will be available for pick up at the Bellarmine Bookstore the week prior to graduation during regular business hours. Rehearsal
Wednesday, May 9 at 5:30 p.m. in Knights Hall. Graduates report to Knights Hall to go through name pronunciation, where you will sit, how to wear the hood and the order of Commencement. You do not need to bring your cap & gown to the rehearsal.
Alumni Welcome
Join us for a celebration as you will be welcomed into the Alumni Association! Held immediately following graduation practice, there will be food, drinks, music, great alumni giveaways, and a champagne toast. The Executive Director of our National Alumni Association, Peter Kremer '02, will welcome you and tell you about all the great benefits and services you are offered as an alumnus/a of Bellarmine University.
Baccalaureate Mass
Assembly of Procession, Saturday, May 12 at 8 a.m., St. Agnes Church, 1920 Newburg Road
Graduates, faculty and staff members should assemble in the undercroft of St. Agnes Church. Participants wear full academic regalia (cap, gown and hood). The processional begins at 8:40 a.m.
Baccalaureate Mass, 9 a.m.
Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Church prior to commencement. Graduates and their guests are expected to participate in this joyous celebration of faith. All members of the Bellarmine community are invited to attend. Any graduate who would like to be a part of the planning for the Baccalaureate Mass should contact Dr. Melanie Prejean Sullivan, Director of Campus Ministry, at 502.272.8051.
Reception, 10:15 a.m.
A light continental breakfast will be available in the University Dining Hall for graduates and their guests following the Baccalaureate Mass.
Commencement
Assembly of Procession - 11:00 a.m.
Graduates will assemble in Horrigan Hall. Specific assembly locations will be clearly marked inside the building. Additional information will be provided at the rehearsal on Wednesday, May 9. For the procession, graduates wear their cap and gown. The academic hood is carried over the left arm. Marshals will assist students with line up for the procession.
Faculty and staff members assemble in Wyatt Hall. The Platform Party, faculty and staff members, in full academic regalia will assemble in Wyatt Hall at 11 a.m. The Faculty Marshals will assemble faculty/staff members and the platform party in the proper processional sequence.
Commencement - 12 Noon
The procession begins at 11:40 a.m. and Commencement begins at 12:00 p.m.
Tickets are required for the May Commencement. Except for reserved seating for graduates, faculty, and governing boards all seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are advised to arrive early and be in their seats no later than 11:30 a.m.
