Career Planning

Explore career options, clarify interests and skills, evaluate graduate and professional schools, and develop a career plan.  We are a resource for the "undecided" as well as the "very focused" students.

Career assessment is one way of beginning to identify and clarify your interests, values, and personality.  Information gathered from assessments can be used to begin exploring academic majors and career options.  To take the Strong Interest Inventory or the Myers Briggs Type Indicatoryou must first meet with a counselor.  There is a small fee for these assessments. SIGI3 is a web-based computer assisted career guidance program available on the Career Center website. Students can evaluate their values, interests, and activities and investigate occupations. SIGI3 provides current, in-depth information on hundreds of occupations. The program assists in determining the skills sought by employers and how to prepare for a career in a particular field.

Research information in the Career Center Library located on the 2nd floor of the Campus Center.  Computers are available to research company websites and prepare resumes and cover letters.

Information on companies, resume preparation, job search, and graduate programs is available in the Career Center Library.  Computers are available for web-based research and to develop career-related documents such as resumes and cover letters.
