Internships by Major

Students may earn up to three credits for any one internship experience. Internship credit is also available as an elective outside the major with approval of the respective academic department. Students may complete up to six internship credits within their major and up to six credits outside of their major, for a total of 12 internship credits. Exceptions to this limitation include, but may not be limited to, Clinical Laboratory Science, which requires at least eight and up to 14 credits for its required clinical internship.

Please refer to the current Bellarmine University Course Catalog and individual academic departments for the most up-to-date information about internship programs, credits, requirements, policies and procedures. In addition to the departmental internship agreements below, students seeking academic credit must complete the following forms.

Internship Application and Registration Form - To be filled out by the student and, along with a written proposal, submitted for review and acceptance by a faculty sponsor in the department that will be awarding academic credit. See the form for details about the written proposal and other requirements for approval.
Intern Evaluation Form - An assessment of the student's performance by the employer's internship supervisor that should be returned to the faculty sponsor before the end of the semester.
Internship Site Evaluation Form - An assessment of the internship experience by the student that should be returned to the faculty sponsor before the end of the semester.
