Research potential internship employers through company, government, and organizational websites

Selection:
Review website and relevant literature of potential placement sites.
Conduct information interviews as needed.
Talk to other students who have done internships at those sites.
Rank preferences.
Contact companies or agencies of interest to determine current openings.
Interview for the position as required.
Notify the Director of Internships once accepted.
For Academic credit:
Choose a faculty member to review and approve potential internships for credit
All decisions for internship credit rest with each academic department and their faculty
Determination of academic requirements, i.e., mandatory meetings, papers, etc.
Typically, 90 hours in the placement is required for 3 hours of academic credit.
Students will receive a grade of pass/fail.
Complete Internship Application and Registration Form.
Students have through the end of the 4th week of each semester to register for credit in that semester.
This form must be signed by the faculty advisor, the faculty sponsor awarding credit, the department chair, and the academic dean.
Internships registered for the summer will be charged summer tuition. Students may do an internship in the summer but register for credit in the fall with approval of faculty sponsor.
Students may receive up to 6 hours of internship credit within a particular major and up to an additional 6 hours in a second major.
Full-time students taking 12-16 hours can add an additional 3 hours of internship credit without an additional tuition charge.
Following the internship:
3) Pick up evaluation forms from the Internship office and complete by the conclusion of the internship.
