First Things First
The EDGE program is comprised of two portions, a transcript and a portfolio. You will maintain both of these documents utilizing the Optimal Resume program. Below you will find step by step instructions for getting started with the EDGE program. It may also be helpful to see the requirements of the program:
Requirements of the EDGE Portfolio:
Track involvement and skills gained in the yearly transcript
Upload transcript in EDGE Portfolio
Create EDGE Portfolio and upload at least two documents each year in addition to the transcript
Meet with an EDGE Advisor in your first year of participation in the program and at the end of your junior year
Getting a Log-in Account for the EDGE Portfolio
The first step in creating your EDGE portfolio is to click on the following link: My EDGE Portfolio After clicking the link you should be taken to the Optimal Resume website.
At the top of the page you will see a “Create New Account” button, click the button
You will be prompted to enter your Bellarmine email address , click continue
A confirmation email with a code will be sent to your Bellarmine email account.
Once you have received your confirmation code, enter it in the space provided on the Optimal Resume page along with your email address.
You should now be at the Contact/Log-in Information page, provide information and read terms of service and usage. Click “Agreement” box, continue with creating profile.
You are now a registered Optimal Resume user and are ready to create your EDGE Portfolio as well as explore the services offered.
After logging-in you should be in the “Document Center”, find the tab labeled “Portfolios”
Click on the tab entitles “Create New Portfolio”
You will be prompted to name the portfolio, be sure to label your portfolio “EDGE.” You may however include your first or last name in the portfolio name.
Click “Start Portfolio”
You may add or upload documents or if you do not have any documents to upload at this time, return to the document center.
Creating My EDGE Transcript
The EDGE transcript documents can be found on Optimal Resume(EDGE Portfolio) site: MY EDGE
Upon logging in, navigate to the document center
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Resources.”
Select EDGE and find the appropriate EDGE Transcript document that matches your year at Bellarmine
Open the document and Save to your computer or jump drive.
The document is comprised of pull down menus and areas where you will enter information (You will need Windows 2007 to open this document)
Update and personalize the EDGE transcript with your involvement.
Once you have updated, upload into your EDGE Portfolio for storage
Find the tab labeled “Portfolios,” click on the portfolio you have created labeled “EDGE.”
At the top of the screen you will see a button labeled “Add Project,” click this button
You will be prompted to name the item you wish to upload, as well as providing a brief description of the document, click “Continue/Add File.”
Next you will click browse to find the file you would like to upload and follow the instructions to describe the file, and provide specific instructions as to what program may be needed to view the file (such as word, excel, publisher, etc.).
Click “Save File” and you have uploaded your document.
