Exercise Equipment The fitness area is supplied with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, weight machines, and free weights. Floor mats are also available for stretching. The fitness area also houses a ping pong table and flat screen TVs above the treadmills.
Free Play Area Two full-sized courts are available for free play (i.e. basketball, volleyball, etc.). See front desk for available times. Please note: occasionally this space will be reserved for intramural games, classes, or wellness programs.
Tennis Courts Indoor tennis courts are available by reservation and on a walk in basis. Inquire at the front desk for available court times. If a court is reserved and the party making the reservation does not show and does not notify the front desk accourdingly, a $10 penalty charge will be incurred. This charge must be paid prior to reserving the courts again. Six outdoor courts are available on a first come, first served basis only; please check in at the front desk for court time. Tennis balls are available for purchase at the front desk. Tennis rackets are available for check out.
Locker Rooms Lockers are available on a first come, first served basis while using the facility. You may supply your own lock and remove it before you leave each day or, with a $10 refundable deposit, check out one of our locks (as available).
Lounge The lounge area includes a pool table, checkers game and a big screen television for member use. Pool table equipment is available for check out at the front desk . The lobby television volume is controlled by SuRF staff.
Vending Soft drink and snack machines are available in the facility and provide healthy options such as fruit juice, granola bars, etc. Food and drinks, with the exception of water, cannot be brought onto the courts. Note: no alcohol or tobacco products in the facility.
Consultation Consultations regarding diet, exercise programs, and other wellness concerns are available by appointment with the Director of Sport, Recreation and Fitness Center. Printed information regarding these topics is also available in the lounge area.
Programs Outdoor activities are planned for the fall semester for September 20, October 4 and November 8, 2008. They will be day trips to local/regional parks and outdoor areas. Group Fitness Classes will also be offered. The schedules will be posted on the website as they are available as well as sent via email.
Walking events are scheduled each semester. The events usually take place over several weeks with prizes being awarded for the winning team/individual following the event. Please check back for more information as it becomes available.
