Transferring to a new school is a big decision. Whether you or moving back to Louisville, attending through 2BU partnership, or completing your degree you are choosing a challenging and rewarding experience in a supportive community of faculty and peers. Previously Earned Credit Hours: We believe in credit where credit is due. To ensure your hard work does not go unnoticed, we will closely review transcripts from your previous education experience(s) to verify and apply credits that meet our high education standards. Scholarship Opportunities

Silver Scholarship

Bellarmine awards transfer grants to students who transfer from an accredited institution of higher education and have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Awards are based on review of the admission application, there is no separate application process. If you qualify, this award will be reflected in your initial scholarship offer that is awarded upon admission.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Each year Bellarmine University awards four Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarships to incoming transfer students in the amount of $29,500! To be eligible for this award you must be a current member of your institution's PTK Chapter and complete our PTK Scholarship application. A committee will review all applicants and students that qualify will be selected to participate in an interview.

Application Submission Deadlines — Fall: July 1; Spring: November 15

How to Apply: Students will need to submit an essay between 500 and 750 words that addresses: 1) "What made you select Bellarmine?" and 2) How will a Bellarmine education help you achieve your educational and career goals?" Additionally, submit documentation showing current PTK membership status and your resume.

Jefferson to Bellarmine

As part of the Jefferson 2 Bellarmine partnership, Bellarmine is offering Jefferson students a total tuition rate of $16,300 per year, inclusive of fees. Students are able to access all campus amenities, programs, and events, and have the ability to live on campus for an additional cost.

KCTCS Transfer Partnership

The KCTCS to Bellarmine program allows students from any KCTCS campus to easily transfer their credits with no application fee. As part of the partnership, Bellarmine is offering KCTCS students a total tuition rate of $16,300 per year (inclusive of fees and course materials). KCTCS students also have the opportunity to take up to two free summer courses.

Admissions Deadlines for Transfer Students

There are no application “deadlines” prior to the start of the semester for transfer students applying to Bellarmine because of our rolling admissions policy. We suggest, however, you apply and submit all credentials for admission three months before the start of the semester. This should give you enough time to become admitted, register for classes, and receive your financial aid package.

The last day for students to apply and submit all credentials for admission is the last day of the drop/add period.

What Is The Tuition At Bellarmine University?

Tuition, fees, room and board for the current school year can be found on the Undergraduate Tuition and Fees page.

Is A Deposit Or Matriculation Fee Required?

No, transfer students are not required to pay the matriculation fee. It is only required of freshmen who have recently graduated from high school or transfer students who wish to attend Orientation.

What Scholarships Are Available To Transfer Students?

Transfer students who are full-time at Bellarmine are eligible for transfer grants. The amount of the transfer grant is based on your transfer GPA, which includes only the courses that are transferable to Bellarmine. For the 2019-2020 school year the transfer grant ranges from $20,700-$26,000 per year. Member of Phi Theta Kappa can apply for our Phi Theta Kappa scholarship. If awarded, the PTK scholarship for the 2019-2020 school year is $27,000.

How Do I Apply For Transfer Grants?

Transfer grants are awarded automatically once you have been admitted fully to Bellarmine and your transfer credit evaluation is complete.

How do I apply for federal financial aid?

You will need to apply for federal/state financial aid by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Bellarmine’s school code is 001954.

What classes will transfer to Bellarmine?

Beginning in spring 2021, there is a new policy in effect for students who transfer in with more than 51 credit hours. To see how this policy may impact your courses, please visit our Transfer Credit Policy page. An official transfer credit evaluation (TCE) will be completed by the Registrar’s Office once we have received your official transcripts and you have been admitted to Bellarmine. We will only accept college credits from schools that are regionally accredited.

Does my GPA from my previous college transfer to Bellarmine?

No, your transfer GPA does not calculate into your Bellarmine GPA. The only time your transfer GPA will be calculated with your Bellarmine GPA is if you are applying for a specific program, such as nursing, or you are eligible for graduation honors.

When do I register for my first semester of classes at Bellarmine?

Once you have been admitted to Bellarmine, you will receive an acceptance letter in the mail. The letter will include your advisor’s contact information. Please contact them to schedule an advising and registration appointment.

What majors does Bellarmine offer?

We offer more than 60 majors in the arts and sciences, business, education, nursing and health sciences, communication and environmental studies.

Am I required to attend Knight u or Orientation?

No, you are not required to attend Knight U or Orientation. These events are specifically for first-time freshmen.

How do I apply for on-campus housing?

You will need to submit your housing application online along with a $200 deposit.

How do I arrange a campus visit?

You can schedule an appointment to meet with an admission counselor and/or take a tour of campus just about any weekday. You may schedule your visit by registering online. What is an Official Transcript?

An official transcript documents the academic record of an individual from a school. To ensure the validity of this record, an official transcript is printed on security paper, often featuring a watermark and signature. Unofficial transcripts are typically copies of this record (printed, emailed or photocopied) and cannot be used for application at a higher education institution. Typically an unofficial transcript will be marked “Issued to Student”. Unofficial transcripts can be submitted for a preliminary review by completing our Undergraduate Transcript Review Request form.

As a transfer student applying to Bellarmine University, an official transcript must be mailed directly to Bellarmine University’s Office of Admission, should not be marked “Issued to Student”, addressed to the student, or hand delivered by the student. To submit your official transcript for review, reach out to your previous learning institution and they will help you with their process.
