Moodle

Moodle is a Learning Management System (LMS), which is a web-based learning platform that may be used to supplement your classroom activities.  Moodle allows for posting various types of media and documents, hosting online discussion forums, developing and deploying online assessments, and maintaining a course grade book. For assistance with understanding and using Moodle, faculty should contact Adam Elias at aelias2@bellarmine.edu. 

Email

Bellarmine email can be accessed on campus or off campus with your Bellarmine network username and password. There is a built-in contacts listing of email for faculty, staff and students.

Keep file size in mind when sending email. Use this chart as a guide:

Small: 10 to 25 KB
Medium: 25 to 100 KB
Large: 100 to 500 KB
Very Large: 500 KB to 1 MB

Be aware that large attachments, images and special backgrounds have a big impact on file size. Periodically empty the deleted and sent items folders.

Network Security

  • Protect your user name and password.
  • Do not open unknown email attachments.
  • Do not respond to any email asking you to confirm accounts or passwords.
  • Use your W drive for critical files.
  • You must protect the privacy of others, including faculty, staff and students.

Plagiarism

Unicheck is a web-based plagiarism detection and deterrent tool, which integrates with the Moodle learning management system. For questions or assistance with using Unicheck, please contact Adam Elias at aelias2@bellarmine.edu.
