Bellarmine graduates are leaders in their fields, from education, business and accounting to spiritual service and medicine. The Bellarmine University Alumni Association recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves through professional accomplishments,
community service and demonstration of attitudes consistent with Bellarmine’s Catholic identity and the inclusive Thomas Merton spirit.

As testament to the Bellarmine mission of preparing leaders for society, the Bellarmine Alumni Association designed the Gallery of Distinguished Graduates in 1980 to recognize persons who have distinguished themselves in one or more of the following ways:
professional accomplishment, community service, and demonstration of attitudes consistent with Bellarmine’s inclusive Catholic identity.
Since 1985 Bellarmine has recognized a graduate from our prestigious Rubel School of Business Accounting Program who has distinguished themselves through personal and professional accomplishments.
The Distinguished Service Award was instituted in 1978 and renamed The Reverend Msgr. Alfred F. Horrigan Distinguished Service Award in 1987. It is given to recognize an individual who, as a member of the university faculty, staff or administration, has
made a significant contribution to Bellarmine University. The award recipient may be a present or past employee of Bellarmine University or Ursuline College.
The Scarlet and Silver Society was established by the Alumni Association in 1983. Membership is bestowed upon those whose personal involvement, time and effort on behalf of Bellarmine bring honor and distinction to the University, perpetuating its reputation
for excellence.
The Alumnus/a of the Year, instituted in 1962, is given to an alumnus/a who has shown special interest in Bellarmine's growth as an institution of educational, cultural and community significance and has used his/her time and talent for the betterment
of not only Bellarmine but for the entire community. The recipient also will have demonstrated integrity and a concern that has gained the respect of his/her peers.
