Women in Leadership Impact Award
Dr. Jessica Hume won the Women in Leadership Impact Award from the Women in Leadership Cohort at Bellarmine University for her outstanding work in the Galileo Learning Community and Health Humanities program.
Dr. Jennifer Barker lectured on “Diving In: Filming the Empire at Sea” at Kwansei Gakuin University, in Osaka, and on “American Identity in Golden Age Hollywood Film” at Nanzan University, Nagoya, Japan.
Reading Merton in the Rain
Indiana University Distinguished Professor Emeritus Scott Sanders visited Dr. Tudor’s non-fiction creative writing class to speak to the students about writing before his lecture on “Reading Merton in the Rain.”
Dr. Annette Powell published a reflection essay on the “Postracial” in Rhetorics of Whiteness: Postracial Hauntings in Popular Culture, Social Media, and Education. This collection won the 2018 CCCC Outstanding Book Award in the Edited Collection category. Learn more.
The Animated Fuzzy Avant-Garde
In January Dr. Jennifer Barker presented a program of animated shorts at the Orion cinema in Helskini, Finland, called “The Animated Fuzzy Avant-Garde.” The program was originally featured as a master class at the Midnight Sun Film Festival in Sodankylä, Finland in June. Learn more.
