Microsoft Teams--A Great New Tool for Enhancing Interaction

Microsoft  has developed an app that is part of the Office 365 suite and is available via your Office 365 account when you go to one.bellarmine.edu and click on Office 365 and Drive.  It is called Teams and brings all the tools we have been using into one centralized hub.  The first time you click on Teams you will want to install the desktop app by using Save and Run just as you do for installing any software.  After that, you can create a team by clicking on Join or create a team at the bottom of the Favorites Panel on the left-hand side (Microsoft calls this the Me space).  You will be able to invite members to the team and then can chat and meet with them as needed.  You can also share files with them as well.  Teams is a great tool for communication and collaboration among a group of people with common interests, such as a class or group.  Students, faculty, and staff all have access to this great tool.

We, along with the great folks in IT, will be sharing information about Teams (and many Moodle tools along with a few new tools) in the near future at our Instructional Technology Boot Camp on Dec. 18th.  Please be sure to register for this great session which includes two tracks, Basic and Advanced, this year.  Bellarmine Today has been posting information, and you can register here.  In the meantime, you can go here for more information about using Teams with your classroom.  As always please contact me, Janice Poston, or Adam Elias for more information or assistance.  We are here for you so that you can make learning experiences more engaging for your students.
