Using Technology Wisely in Your Course

Are you overwhelmed by all the technology tools you have available to use with courses?  Don't know where to even begin?  Are you designing a course or redesigning a course? How will the course be delivered? Technology can be used regardless of how the course is delivered, but courses that are online or hybrid will require more technology than a face-to-face or augmented course will. Never fear as there is a great article in the Chronicle that will assist you in making wise choices regarding technology. First and foremost know what your goals and objectives are for the course and then consider how technology will help you accomplish them.  Make a list of what you might want to use and consult with colleagues as to what they are using.  Many of the activities listed in this article are easy to implement, especially since almost every student has some type of device for assessing and using technology.  Whether it is a phone, laptop, or tablet all are useful for classroom activities.  So don't be overwhelmed, be selective and make wise choices and use this article to help you.
