Dentatorubrothalamic tracts
- axons from the contralateral dentate nucleus of the cerebellum project toward the red nucleus with axon collaterals to this nucleus before coursing upward to the ventral lateral and ventral anterior nuclei of the thalamus. The thalamus serves as a relay station for projections to the cortex. This pathway is part of the functional "cerebrocerebellum," and acts to coordinate the initiation, planning and timing of movement.
