Motor nucleus of trigeminal nerve
- the cell bodies of motor neurons (SVE - muscles derived
from the first branchial arch) for the trigeminal nerve (CN V) are located
in this nucleus. The nerve fibers exiting the brainstem go to the muscles
of mastication (medial and lateral pterygoid muscles, masseter, temporalis)
as well as the mylohyoid, anterior belly of the digastic, the tensor veli
palatini and the tensor tympani.
