Accountability and Morality Scholarship
- Deadline: October 31, 2021
The personal injury attorneys at O’Connor, Acciani & Levy
are proud to offer the 2021 Accountability & Morality Scholarship!
Everyone, even corporations, is accountable for their actions. Every
action has an effect on the people and places involved. Whether it is
something as small as an individual making a ‘just’ decision or as large
as environmental impact, every action has its positive and negative
effects.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “it is wrong and immoral to
seek to escape the consequences of one’s acts.” As individuals, this is
easier said than done. We can control our actions and be held
accountable for our mistakes. But what happens when corporations make
mistakes, or a product has side effects that were unintended? Who is
held accountable? Scholarship applicants are asked to dive into
liability law and business ethics to describe a time either they
personally, another individual, or a group were injured because of
corporate oversight. Who was held accountable for the incident? How were
damages fixed? And were the results fair?
Once all of the
submissions have been received, the entries will be reviewed and the top
five applicants will be selected to each receive a $1,000 award for
their essays that describe a time when a corporation’s actions failed
resulting in someone or a group of people being injured, and how the
victims overcame their situation and held a specific party accountable.
Eligibility:
- The scholarship is open to any current high school senior,
college student, or graduate student who is a legal resident of the
United States.
- Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
Requirements:
- The candidate must submit a 750-word essay response to the
prompt: Applicants are asked to dive into liability law and business
ethics to describe a time either they personally, another individual, or
a group were injured because of corporate oversight. Who was held
accountable for the incident? How were damages fixed? And were the
results fair?
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
- The
candidate must submit a transcript from their current school.
First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have
recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from
their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript
from their prior school. High school students must also submit proof of
acceptance to their college or university.

American Indian Nurse Scholarship Program
- Deadline: Rolling
The American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award Program (AINS) was
started by the NSCDA in 1928 to give students of American Indian descent
the opportunity to pursue careers in nursing. The students are expected
to return to work among their people to help improve health care. Some
students work on reservations, and others find employment in hospitals
in areas largely populated by American Indians. Intended originally to
benefit females only, the program has expanded to include males and the
career goals now include not only nursing careers, but jobs in health
care and health education, as well.
The current goal is to grant a $1,500 scholarship each semester, as
long as the student remains in academic good standing. The scholarship
money is restricted to tuition and specific academic expenses. To meet
the financial demands of their education, many students seek additional
government grants and subsidies and maintain part-time jobs.

Randall Blair Isenberg Alcohol Addiction Awareness Scholarship
- Deadline: June 15, 2023
The Randall Blair Isenberg Alcohol Addiction Awareness Scholarship
rewards one student who demonstrates a passion for raising awareness of
alcohol addiction with a $1000 scholarship for college.
As a
former state district judge and chief felony prosecutor, Randall B.
Isenberg has seen firsthand how alcohol addiction affects members of our
community affected by alcohol addiction.
The National Institute
on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) estimates that, in 2015, more
than 15 million U.S adults have Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), diagnosed
when an individual’s drinking causes distress or harm. Even more
disturbing, NIAAA reports 1.3 million Americans age 12 to 20 reported
heavy alcohol use over the past month. The NIAAA estimates that, each
year, 20 percent of college students meet the criteria for Alcohol Use Disorder
The
National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) urges
Americans to advocacy, and to open a dialog about alcohol addiction to
raise awareness. Speaking out in your community, becoming an advocate
for alcohol addiction awareness or even simply learning more about
addiction is an important first step.
To
that end, the Law Offices of Randall B. Isenberg offers the Randall
Blair Isenberg Alcohol Addiction Awareness Scholarship to an individual
who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to raising awareness
about alcohol addiction.
This $1000 scholarship is available to students who meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in or formally
accept to any accredited U.S. community college, undergraduate or

awareness, as demonstrated by volunteer, educational, or professional

Single Parent Scholarship
- Deadline: Rolling
Becoming a parent is one of the most significant changes in your life!
Having that little one in your life is magical but also overwhelming at
times. They will take up most of your time, which is why lots of parents
(moms and dads!) live day by day. Especially when you are a single
parent, it is hard to make everything work. Organic Formula Shop is
committed to giving back and supporting Single Parents! In 2023 they will
support two eligible students with a $2,000 reward toward their
education.
Why a Single-Parent Scholarship?
As a Dutch company, with their much-appreciated customer/parent base in
the U.S., they want to give back to the country and community. The Dutch
government financially supports single parents in the Netherlands so
that studying and childcare can be combined. They have learned that many
students in the U.S. rely on available scholarships when their finances
are insufficient. For single parents, time and financial resources often
cause their inability to complete their education. A degree can
increase financial stability and the chance of a better future for a
whole family significantly. The Team of Organic Formula Shop feels this
is an important cause to which they want to contribute.
What do they offer?
In a nutshell, the Single Parent Scholarship by Organic Formula Shop is a student scholarship designed to support a single mother or a father.
Award Amount?
$2,000 to each winner
