Coming Together

Lessons and Carols

This traditional service of Christian worship celebrates the birth of Jesus, including the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus told in nine short Bible readings, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns, and choir music. Music will be led by the Bellarmine Schola, under the direction of Dr. S. Timothy Glasscock, with students, faculty, and staff reading the nine “lessons,” and culminating with a reading by Bellarmine's President, Dr. Susan M. Donovan.

Holiday Music

Sounds of the Season presented by the Bellarmine Music Department

While trimming the tree, baking up holiday memories, or sitting by the fire, enjoy the Sounds of the Season presented by the Bellarmine Music Department.

The Bellarmine University Music Department and Schola Cantorum choir's newest holiday performance for 2020.

The Jazz Combo put together a delightful concert full of holiday classics. Bellarmine faculty members perform and direct in the multiple small ensembles of mixed instrumentation. Special thanks to Dave Clark, Todd Hildreth, Craig Wagner, Sonny Stephens, and Terry O'Mahone who all performed for this holiday concert.

Dr. Timothy Glasscock directed a holiday concert with a compilation of performances in St. James Church. This compilation included songs from the University Singers, a non-auditioned student group; the Oratorio Society, consisting of students, faculty, staff, and community members; and the University Schola Cantorum, a mixed-vocal ensemble consisting mainly of music majors and advanced singers. Dr. Timothy Glasscock is Chair of the Bellarmine Music Department. He has been teaching music and directing choirs for 40 years, both at universities and in a high school setting. He was Director of Vocal Studies at The Youth Performing Arts School for 12 years and has been directing the choirs at Bellarmine since 2009. Dr. Glasscock is very happy to be a part of brightening the season for our Bellarmine community!
