Enter the 2022 Bellarmine Magazine Photo Contest

Spring 2022

Welcome to the 2022 Bellarmine Magazine Photo Contest! 
 
Send us your best work in these categories:
 
  • Nature (this includes landscapes and photographs of animals, birds or aquatic life)
  •  
  • Architecture/cityscapes
  •  
  • Creative/altered images (photos that have been manipulated in some way, whether that’s a long exposure, a digital effect, the use of a filter, etc.)
 
You may enter one photograph (black-and-white or color) in each of the three categories. 
 
First-place winners will receive $100 each. All winning photographs will be featured in the Fall 2022 issue of Bellarmine Magazine and online. 
 
The deadline to enter is 11:59 p.m. Friday, July 1. 
 

How to enter

Photos must be submitted electronically. Email your photos to magazine Editor Carla Carlton at ccarlton@bellarmine.edu with the subject line PHOTO CONTEST. Please include the category you’re entering, a brief description of your entry, your mailing address and a phone number. Alumni: Please include your year of graduation. Current students: Please include your major. Others: Please include your Bellarmine connection (faculty, staff, partner of a graduate, etc.).

 
Photos must be no larger than 3 megabytes (3 MB) and no smaller than 1 megabyte (1 MB). If you are using a camera on a mobile device, be sure to use the highest-quality (largest) setting.
 
Judging
 
Photographs will be judged on originality, composition and technical execution by a panel of professional photographers and members of the Bellarmine Magazine staff.
 
Judges will select first-, second- and third-place finishers in each category (where applicable) and may select honorable mention(s) at their discretion. First-place winners in each category will receive $100.
 
Photographs will be featured in the Fall 2022 issue of Bellarmine Magazine and on the magazine’s website.  
 
Bellarmine retains the right to publish any submitted photograph in Bellarmine Magazine, on the Bellarmine University website and in other Bellarmine publications.
