After a decade of transformative leadership, Dr. Susan M. Donovan has announced plans to retire as Bellarmine University’s president at the conclusion of her contract in summer 2027. Since becoming president in 2017, Donovan has advanced Bellarmine’s mission and strengthened its foundation through strategic growth, academic innovation, expanded student opportunities and increased national recognition. Her tenure has included Bellarmine’s transition to NCAA Division I athletics, unprecedented philanthropic momentum, stronger financial health, expanded community partnerships, and a continued commitment to its Catholic identity and student success. As Bellarmine looks ahead, the Board of Trustees is conducting a comprehensive national search for the university’s next president.Magazine 2026
