Bellarmine University is one of the nation’s 30 most promising places to work in student
affairs, according to research published by “Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.”
Bellarmine is the only university in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky or Tennessee to qualify
for the list.
“It is humbling to be nationally recognized for our intentional efforts in these areas
and a gift to work alongside our practitioners and educators who hold inclusivity
and professional excellence as mission critical,” said Dr. Helen-Grace Ryan, Bellarmine’s
vice president for Student Affairs.
With a focus on workplace diversity, staffing practice and work environment, the publication’s
research examines categories such as family friendliness, workplace climate, staffing
practices, salary, benefits and professional development opportunities. The publication
collaborates with the American College Personnel Association to produce the list annually.
“Student learning and success are at the core of our mission, in addition to inclusivity
and academic innovation,” said Ryan. “Student Affairs, which houses so many of the
university’s critical student support services, breathes life into that mission daily,
making it a common experience for our students. Our division’s dedicated professionals
embody what we lovingly refer to as the Bellarmine Difference, which is all about
holding ourselves to a standard of excellence, in a compassionate, supportive community.”
