Three leading publications recently recognized Bellarmine University as one of the
nation's best colleges, reaffirming its commitment to providing academic excellence
and delivering a strong return on investment.
In the latest rankings released by U.S. News & World Report, Bellarmine ranked 280th among national universities. This year’s rankings were recalibrated
to put more emphasis on social mobility and outcomes after graduation. This is Bellarmine’s
30th consecutive year appearing on the publication’s list of top colleges. The university
also ranked 318th among national universities demonstrating strong performances in
creating social mobility, based on enrolling and graduating large proportions of students
who demonstrate high financial need through Pell Grant eligibility.
The Donna and Allan Lansing School of Nursing and Clinical Sciences climbed nearly 100 places, to 263, in U.S. News & World Report’s rankings this year
of the best nursing schools in the U.S.
The Princeton Review included Bellarmine in its list of the nation’s best 389 colleges. These rankings
are based solely on the publication’s surveys of college students about their schools.
Money Magazine recognized Bellarmine University as one of the best colleges in the U.S. based on
26 data points, including graduation rates, cost of attendance and alumni salaries.
“Students searching for a college should never rely on rankings alone, but they do
provide a snapshot of academic quality and value, so it is encouraging to see Bellarmine
as a consistent presence on these lists of the nation’s top colleges,” said Dr. Susan
M. Donovan, Bellarmine’s president. “These are not just measures of academic excellence
but also of our ability to ensure that our students are successful after graduation.”
Donovan noted that the rankings reflect both Bellarmine’s impact on students and the
impact those students have in the world after they graduate, well-prepared for fulfilling
lives and careers. The rankings exemplify the university’s mission as an inclusive
Catholic university of academic excellence, grounded in the liberal arts and focused
on engagement, belonging, wellness and purpose.
